The virtual hub is led by research directors at East and North Herts Trust and West Herts Teaching Trust. The 91¿´Æ¬ (UH) has employed two research fellows to support the following objectives:

• Create a HWE research strategy.
• Align new research with HWEICS priorities.
• Increase HWE researcher capacity.
• Provide advice sessions for researchers.
• Increase collaborative research between ICS and UH.
• Engage with communities and the public, supporting them to undertake research and implement findings to improve services.

Pressures on health and care services are increasing. Demand continues to grow, and understanding this and being able to quantify what needs to develop, and transform is essential to respond to this challenge and protect health and care services for those who are most vulnerable by building an ICS intelligence function using data and analytics to enable effective decision-making.

• Using advanced analytical techniques including Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict the needs and demands of our 1.6m HWE ICS population and its segments in the short, medium and longer term
• Developing scenario modelling techniques to understand how future needs and demands translate into system capacity, workforce and costs (e.g. do nothing, do something, do all) as well as identifying areas of greatest opportunity to support prioritisation
• Understanding how current best practice initiatives e.g. proactive care will impact on future demand and model through emerging areas of research and innovation to support prioritisation and identify greatest opportunities
• Through building the model from the linked record identify differential variables and population characteristics which determine segmentation drift or utilisation of care
• Managing demand across health and care system

Introducing the Social Value Tool (SVT): a revolutionary framework designed to evaluate and communicate the societal and environmental impacts of initiatives, projects, or organisations. Beyond finances, SVT measures positive changes like community well-being, environmental sustainability, and equitable access to opportunities.

Our mission? To develop a user-friendly web-based tool tailored for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. By systematically capturing social value impact, we aim to drive continuous improvement, empowering local workforce and enhancing community outcomes.

• Empower staff to monitor and enhance service delivery, outcomes, and community connections.
• Evolve SVT to remain flexible, effective, and adaptable over time.

• Develop a user-friendly, web-based DST powered by simulation. This tool will empower decision-makers with a comprehensive analytical framework to foresee the impacts of proposed changes.
• Scenario Planning: Model a range of scenarios and interventions to address critical challenges with the click of a button on any device.
• Resource Management: Optimise staffing, theatre availability, bed capacity, and clinic accessibility to enhance operational efficiency and ensure optimal resource allocation.

By leveraging web-based technology, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) within a simulation environment, our DST will capture patient pathway dynamics, providing accurate representations of care trajectories and resource utilisation. This unique solution will bridge the gap in current NHS tools, significantly contributing to informed decision-making and mitigating the strain on the healthcare system.

Immersive technology in healthcare - trial virtual reality (VR) in a range of scenarios to monitor and measure its effectiveness as an innovative training and support tool in healthcare.

This innovative, ambitious new cloud-based programme supports healthcare students on placement. Blute empowers students with a cutting-edge toolset for a smoother, more fulfilling clinical experience, alongside improved faculty oversight and data-driven support.

The aim of this project is to:

• Boost student satisfaction during clinical placements, through realtime reporting of placement activity and access to support.
• Promote a culture of open communication where students feel empowered to share feedback, concerns and ideas.
• Streamline the Academic staff workload for efficient supervision, remote management and enable delivery of personalised student support.
• Attract top talent by ensuring budding healthcare workers have a positive association with Hertfordshire placements.
