Founded in 1978, Changzhou Institute of Technology (CIT) is a regular full-time undergraduate degree awarding institution approved by the Ministry of Education in China. CIT is located in the “Dragon City” Changzhou, which is in the south part of Jiangsu Province. CIT has four campuses - Liaohe Road Campus, Wushan Road Campus, Huiguanbang Road Campus, and Science and Technology Industrial Park, covering a total area of around 100 hectares. The campuses house modern libraries, well-equipped sports facilities, advanced teaching equipment, and laboratories. There are about 1,350 staff members and over 16,500 full-time students.
Over the past 45 years, CIT has developed into a distinctive, practice-oriented higher learning institution with a focus on engineering and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines. CIT consists of 19 Schools/Teaching Sections, offering 60 undergraduate programmes in fields such as Engineering, Science, Management, Economics, Literature, Education, and Arts. CIT consistently ranks among the top 20 in key performance indicators out of over 700 similar universities nationwide.
CIT enrols students from over 20 provinces (cities and municipalities) throughout China. In consideration of the local economy, industry and technology characteristics, CIT aims at cultivating high-qualified applied talents with innovative ideas and practical abilities who can meet local social and economic development needs. The annual average student employment rate is over 95% and the graduates enjoy great popularity among employers.
