Sports Injury Clinic

Our on-site, fully equipped Sports Injury Clinic offers clinical assessments, treatment and rehabilitation for 91¿´Æ¬ students and staff.

Do you suffer with a sports injury or pain which affects your daily life? Our dedicated team of sports therapists can help to identify the cause and treat it accordingly, to return you to your sport or activity in the most effective way.



How we work

The appointments are administered by our final year BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy students, many of whom have already worked alongside professional athletes on placement.

The sessions are supervised by fully qualified and insured graduate sports therapists, with a wealth of experience in clinical practice and professional sport.

How do we achieve this?

We can provide you with the following services:

  • Examination and assessment of your injury
  • Sports massage
  • Tailored and progressive rehabilitation programmes
  • Manual therapy/joint mobilisations
  • Taping and strapping
  • Electrotherapy
  • Education and advice on injury prevention

What can you expect from your appointment?

We will initially take a detailed case history, followed by a clinical assessment. Shorts or a vest top may be required for this, to allow a full examination of the region to take place.

Based on our findings, we will discuss with you a management plan specific to your needs. Treatment and rehabilitation will be advised as appropriate, and you may require follow-up appointments to further your recovery. Each appointment is scheduled for 1 hour.

Where do you find us?

We are located on the de Havilland campus in S127 (on the first floor of the Institute of Sport). Once you have reached the first floor, please wait in the seating area located just through the double doors.

Opening hours

The Sports Injury Clinic offers appointments on weekdays during term time (Semester A and B only).

Prices

The Sports Injury Clinic provides an invaluable and realistic learning environment for our students. Therefore, we are proud to offer this specialist service at a very low rate (UH staff: £10, UH students: £5). Our prices are set to purely cover consumable costs.

Payment is accepted by credit or debit card at the time of your appointment.

Cancellation policy

Please provide us with 24 hours notice if you can no longer attend your appointment.
