Refunds
If you need to apply for a refund, please check the information below to make sure you're eligible and if so, how much you're entitled to.
The information applies to all students; full and part time, Home/EU and international, undergraduate and postgraduate who withdraw or rest from a programme or modules. Please note the refund dates do not apply to UH Online or Research students
Key information
- Refunds to students will be made to the country and the account from which the money was sent. This is to comply with money laundering guidelines
- Monies paid to the University by the Student Loan Company cannot be refunded to the student
- Refunds will only be processed on completion of the tuition fees refund form (PDF - 0.07 Mb)
- Please submit your refund application form by email to refunds@herts.ac.uk
- To find out more please read the Student Refund and Compensation Policy Document for the relevant academic year
- Registered students withdrawing from your course, please do not complete a refund form until you have formally and you have checked your liability

Non-refundable Element
International students who pay a deposit of £5,000 for tuition fees and then decide not to attend the University will lose £2,500.
If a student attends and then subsequently withdraws they will be liable for the fees as stated above. Please email finance-tuition@herts.ac.uk for more information.
