From Kaspar the humanoid robot helping children with autism to a suburban house staffed by care robots for assisted living, our human-robot interaction research is exploring innovative care solutions.

Protecting our troops in biowarfare

Our researchers are working with Ministry of Defence agencies and multinational defence companies to develop technologies that protect the UK�셲 armed forces from biological attacks.

We have an active and highly regarded research community within the School of Engineering and Computer Science. Our well-equipped laboratories and diverse expertise of academic and research staff in the School allow us to enhance learning and teaching and grow our collaborative partnerships, achieving impact as well as widening the end-used benefit of our research.

Our research is at the forefront of innovation in science, engineering and information sciences, with 95% of our engineering research being rated as internationally excellent or internationally recognised in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
