NHS Learning Support Fund

Degree-level nursing, midwifery and many allied health students on courses from September 2020 will be eligible for a payment of at least 짙5,000 a year to help with living costs which they will not need to pay back.

Nursing, midwifery and many allied health students will be eligible for additional support of at least 짙5,000 to help with living costs from September 2020. The funding will be given to new and continuing degree-level students.

The funding comes as part of the government’s pledge to increase nurse numbers by 50,000 over the next five years.

Students will receive at least 짙5,000 a year, with further funding available for eligible students:

짙1,000 for specialist disciplines that struggle to recruit
짙2,000 for childcare costs
Exceptional Hardship Fund of up to 짙3,000.

The funding will not have to be repaid by recipients. Students will also be able to continue to access funding for tuition and maintenance loans from the Student Loans Company.

MSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)	An upper second class honours degree in any subject. Consideration will be given to applicants with a lower second class if their degree is related to nursing and they have previous care work experience. GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration)	An upper second class honours degree in a science* or a healthcare related subject. Must have studied successfully at level 6 for five years. At least five GCSEs taken at one sitting, including English language, mathematics and science* at grade C or above (or equivalent).
MSc Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging (Pre-Registration)	An upper second class honours degree in a science or a healthcare related subject. GCSE mathematics, English language and science at grade C or above (or equivalent).
